We are pleased to publish below the review by Bivo of the website www.bicitech.it, specialized in the world of cycling. You can find the original article here: http://www.bicitech.it/complete-food-ciclismo-bivo-made-in-italy/

“Any sportsman will have come close to complete food: it will work, will it be good, will it really help when you have too little time for a traditional meal?

In this regard, we met the Bivo guys at their stand at one race and we were immediately intrigued by their product, which we decided to try.

Who needs a complete food

It is a complete meal, perhaps it would be better to call it a plant-based food that contains proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and natural salts, all in powder form and in only 114 grams of weight.

Initially designed for urban use and for those who have little time to spend at lunchtime, it immediately gave a nod to those who travel, and in particular to the Outdoor world, made up of trekkers and cyclists.

Bivo, taste and content

Each envelope is considered a complete meal and can count on 440 Calories of which: 52% Carbohydrates, 17% Protein, 22% Fat and 9% Fiber; it contains neither sweeteners nor added sugars.

There are 3 flavors available: Natural, Coconut and Mango (NDR: the new Ciocco-Coffee taste has been added); while we are writing, a quarter of Ciocco-Coffee taste is coming out.

As mentioned, intrigued by the product based on a few simple ingredients and its simple preparation (300 ml of water for a packet), what better opportunity to bring home a few packages and try it for you?

A day with a complete food

It must be said that I do not follow any diet, I am not the classic cyclist who counts calories or renounces beer Wednesday night because he has already drunk a glass of wine on Saturday, in fact. They are a good fork but this also thanks to my constitution that leads me to burn everything and always be 57 kg per 1.71 m height … if you can hearten, in the plain are a nail.

In order to try BIVO’s complete food we have obviously started from the basic taste, the Natural one, in what is the way it was conceived, ie a fleeting lunch break.

The product looks like a flour: fill the bottle with 300 ml of water, add the Bivo envelope, close, shake and in less than a minute we already have our meal ready.

The taste, in my opinion, is pleasant, recalls both in taste and consistency the muesli and being a mix not fine remains a trace of some grain a little bigger that gives us the satisfaction, at least mental, not to eat one of the classics ” mash “. To my taste, it releases only a very slight sour note (perhaps given by peas?) That not everyone might like, but it is a de minimis.

The consistency is that which had been described to us, that is lightly creamy, not entirely liquid, but can be varied at will by adding more or less water.

There remains therefore only the last aspect, the most important aspect, which is the sense of satiety and even at this juncture we do not remain disappointed at all: we actually have the feeling of having eaten enough; as a worthy conclusion of this meal I still allow myself a square of dark chocolate.

As for the other 2 flavors we tried:

The mango, as soon as stirred, releases all the smell of the fruit, whose taste then lingers unexpectedly and in a very pleasant way (have you ever tried Solero ice cream? Here, that’s right).

The same applies to the coconut, although in a slightly milder way also given the different, more delicate flavor.

Bivo: in conclusion

In conclusion it is undoubtedly an interesting product to be used during sport, for example during a 1 or 2-day outing where we can easily give up a real lunch, but also for an “urban” use such as a meal after the spinning lesson just before returning to the office.

A completely natural and made in Italy alternative to always have a meal at hand with just the need for 300 ml of water. “
