The way of the Gods

Worth a space is also the Via degli Dei: a thousand-year-old route that connects the capital of Emilia with the Tuscan one, allowing trekkers to fully appreciate the fantastic landscapes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. This route dates back to the time of the Etruscans (VII-IV century BC), who traced it in order to consolidate its dominion over the Po Valley. The itinerary was used in the following eras also by the Romans, who paved a part of it, and even in the Middle Ages because it was the easiest way to cross the Apennines on foot or on horseback.

In the ’90s the path was set up in such a way as to give outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to cross many places of naturalistic, historical and landscape interest at altitudes around 1000 meters.

The stages of this route are 5, all of a fair length, and are recommended only for those who have a good workout.

The high way of the Parks

The Alta Via dei Parchi is a path of almost 500 kilometers with climbs and descents that crosses the Apennines in Emilia, Tuscany and Marche and is divided into 27 stages. Of course everyone is free to choose which stages of this route to deal with as many access points can be reached by public transport. The name of the street derives from the fact that this extraordinary route crosses eight parks, two of which are national: the Parco dell’Appennino Tosco-Emiliano and the Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi.

The route allows you to experience breathtaking views capable of arousing in outdoor enthusiasts a sense of freedom that only the vast horizons and the wild nature can give.
